Richard B. Cheney, prominent public servant and businessman, is the vice-president. Cheney, a well-known face in Washington politics, worked with four presidents of the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush appointed Cheney as his vice-presidential running mate in 2000, due to his intelligence and judgment. Dick Cheney, who served in the United States as secretary and chief of staff in the administration of a president, as well as during Congress has been a great service to the nation. Republicans and Democrats all respect his honesty. Cheney stated that he sees his job as a trustworthy but discrete adviser in Bush's administration. Cheney has accepted the Republican Vice-Presidential nomination in 2007, stated that he was looking forward to working under a president who will reach across the aisles and collaborate with rival political parties with goodwill and a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on the 30th of January, 1941 at Lincoln Nebraska. After 13 years of age, old, he moved together with family members into Casper in the western region of Wyoming, where his father was the director of the local soil conservation district for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
