Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiThe name refers to the Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Gheorghi Romania). She was first gymnast to score a perfect 10 on an Olympic ceremony. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci as she was only seven years old. In 1969, she participated at the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. She took home the trophy in 1970. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meeting for communist countries she took home three gold medals while in 1973 and 1974 she was the junior all-around champion. She won four gold and one silver in her debut competition as a senior which took place in the year 1975. This was the first time she competed as a senior. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976. She was the first woman to attempt the backward double salto in an unmounting from bar that is uneven. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, she began performing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol started her entertainment career in her teens. Her first job was as a the figure skater who performed with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. These shows included ice skating performances that were accompanied by theatrical music.
