Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
The babies were in the crib and I was strapped with an infant to my back. Ha! The house was getting closer to being done, yet the project was still a distance to go. For furnishing the space, it was going to be a huge effort in terms of time and money. I would also have to go out and shop for my most-loved items. To keep the budget in check, I began attending estate sales with my three sons to find jewels in the rough. Our routine was of walking around garage sales and auctions on Saturday and Sunday and purchase a range of furniture, both new and old constructed. It was my job to spend the day on the drive working on painting or sanding. The furniture I found looked like... this is the moment my love for restoring furniture started. I continued to work on furniture long after we furnished our house. There was an area on the market to sell things. Eventually I had more pieces that I had no idea how to use them and outgrew the area. My home was where I would host open houses, where over 1000 guests could visit and buy any item they liked on the 1st floor in just one weekend. This is where my business Growing Days was born. My business was not only flourishing, but I was also growing our family of four. I was balancing the demands between what it took to start a new business as well as a mother too. Growing Days just seemed to work. In 2013, my sweet daughter Nora joined our 4th baby. Though I was content with the direction that my business went, I was feeling like I had to take an occasional break. I made the decision to take some time off from my vintage furniture and be at home with my children. At the time, it was what I wanted. After a few months that the phones started to be ringing. The people who called me were needing help with decorating their homes and interior improvements. They had mainly attended my house during the open houses for furniture. As I went along I added new clients one by one. But it wasn't long before I managed several clients, and had a profitable home improvement business. If you'd told me that this business of mine would turn into the basis of a television show on DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. As I think about the circumstances I am laughing.
