Laura Linney was one of the greatest American actors of recent times. Her savacious and vulnerable performances have made her a household brand. Linney was born to an unmarried mother, who worked as a nurse. Her interest in theatre during the time spent in the summer with her father, who was famous. She was a student of acting at Brown University, and later at Juilliard School. Her career began on Broadway shortly after her graduation, she made her debut in films within two years and on television in the year after. Over the past few years she's been in many TV productions, films as well as stage productions. She's been nominated for three Oscar Awards, five Tony Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her career.
