Jenna Fischer's best-known role was that of Pam Beesly from the popular television series The Office. To honor the significance of her work, she was awarded the Emmy award for the Best Actress in an Supporting Role. She also won two SAG Awards.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna was a child who watched her mother Anne performing in church plays. The experience instilled an interest in theater.
A trained theater actress, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. She was a part of Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway play Reasons for Being Happy. In the following play, she was a part of Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist comedy starring Greg Germanyn as well as Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's world premiere.
In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office cast-mate and real-life best friend Angela Kinsey started the podcast Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform, which has gained immense popularity, settling in the Top Ten globally every week and registering more than 200 million downloads in its first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She is the author of two books, The Actor's Life and a Survival Guide that recounts her experience from St. Louis to Hollywood and her journey to becoming a successful actress, and the forthcoming Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends who were there (co-authored with Angela Kinsey) This book provides a memoir of their best relationship and their time for The Office.
